A Turning Point for the USA
On September 10th, 2025, the United States of America lost one of its greatest advocates, we lost one of the strongest voices calling for action for Jesus Christ amongst the youth of today and we saw what it means to live the phrase, “To live is Christ and to die is gain (Phil 1:21).” Charlie Kirk, at the age of 31, was ushered into the presence of our Creator King when an assassin’s bullet took the life of one of the kindest, gentlest, and most genuine hearted Americans we will ever know. He was a patriot. a husband, a father but most importantly he was a soldier for the Kingdom, and he died the way he lived, speaking truth to power and preaching the love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This last description of Charlie is what I feel called to write about.
For the last several months Trinity Fellowship Ministries Church without Walls has been going through Pauls’ first set of epistles. His four small letters cover the ideals of what the gospel is, how to live the gospel in our everyday lives and how divine the gospel of Jesus Christ really is. The overarching theme of these epistles is walking worthy of that gospel. As the events of this week have unfolded, I have seen a couple of miraculous things shift in the common church attender and their reaction to the evil that seems to be lurking around every corner at this point.
The first miracle that I have seen is the sheer number of young people coming to the Lord. Charlie Kirk had mobilized the youth of America in the like I have never personally seen in my lifetime. As a youth pastor of three different churches over a period of more than 10 years I have been to a lot of youth events, including Youth Link 2000 and Dare to Share, and Charlie just had something different. He was able to encourage and impassion an entire generation. Not with gimmicks, special effects and a light show. No, Charlie did it with his smile and his honest heart that overflowed with integrity. After seeing their mentor shot and killed in real time, they are being challenged to pick up the mic where Charlie dropped it. There are millions of young Americans using this, not as an opportunity to rage, but to love with the same genuine love that Charlie took everywhere he went.
The second miracle I am witnessing is the movement of Christians who have been living comfortably on the fence; they are picking a side. They are being called to action! Many people who did not even know Charlie are feeling this shift in their hearts and they can’t explain it except to say they feel that this was personal somehow, and it was. There is no other way to say it, this is not a fight of red versus blue. This isn’t even a fight for humanity versus insanity. This is a war between good and evil, and we no longer have the luxury of letting other people take the risk. If evil can get Charlie, it will come for us. Are you ready to stand for Christ? Are you ready to walk worthy of the gospel? Charlie was willing to die for his faith. Are you?
In Christ,
Pastor Bill
